  • Write press releases, statements, remarks, email newsletters, advisories, and weekly editorialized analyses of the Senator’s work

  • Respond to reporter inquiries and coordinate and staff interviews

  • Staff the Senator on dozens of trips through Virginia’s eight media markets, including capturing and editing high-quality photography and videography, pitching and communicating with reporters, packaging content and writing copy for low-capacity papers, working with legislative staff to draft and edit remarks, and creating visuals for press conferences

  • Execute all social content for an audience of 650,000+ on X, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, LinkedIn, and Threads, including scripting, filming, and editing video; designing graphics in Adobe programs; pitching and working directly with influncers; and using messaging best practices

  • Analyze social data in Excel to identify top-performing topics, content types, and post timing to implement best practices for our channels

  • Collaborate with Virginia-based staff and our casework team to improve our website for constituents
